To policy makers and diplomats, King Faisal was an internationally admired and respected statesman whose wise leadership helped bring prosperity to his nation. The struggling people of underdeveloped countries saw this devout king in a different light. By reminding the world that it is the duty of the strong to care for the weak, his influence brought relief to desperate situations and his concern backed by example instilled hope where there had been despair.

In 1976, after the death of King Faisal, his heirs willingly accepted the responsibility of continuing his philanthropic objectives through the establishment of King Faisal Foundation.

Although our projects are far-reaching and often on a large scale, we remain focused on the effect our efforts have on individuals. Our goal, like that of King Faisal, is to improve life for the less fortunate. Each success reaffirms the nobility of this cause. We have been blessed with the means of making a difference. We pray that the seeds of our gifts of hope result in harvests of educated and prosperous individuals who wish to share their good fortune with others and that this ripple effect will contribute to a better world.
