In 1991 when King Faisal
School first opened its doors, the enrolment consisted of 350 primary
students. Within six years, the student body more than doubled and
now includes pre-school, primary, intermediate, and secondary grades.
The first years of operation
saw the school's reputation firmly established as a leading example
of how traditional values and modern education can complement each
other without compromise. An active calligraphy club, for example,
counterbalances classes that teach the latest in computer technology.
Low teacher-student ratios ensure that pupils get maximum benefit
from tuition.
The modern architecture
and exceptional facilities of King Faisal School are set in beautifully
maintained grounds that offer the students a calming, aesthetic
atmosphere.
Academically, the school
sets the highest standards and is proud that its students meet and
exceed the challenging program: classes begin early in the morning
and finish late in the afternoon five-and-a-half days a week. This
full-day program includes extra-curricular activities that complement
the curriculum set by the Saudi Ministry of Education.
King Faisal School also
sets new educational standards. For example, after successfully
introducing a civics course, the Ministry of Education made the
subject mandatory in all Saudi schools.
Through its comprehensive
programs and its dedicated staff, King Faisal School maximizes all
aspects of a student's potential. Moral responsibility, leadership
skills, and independence are stressed in an effort to develop a
balanced individual who will be a credit to his school and his community.
