UPP end-of-year ceremony

The 4th annual UPP end-of-year ceremony was held on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 14.  166 students earned attendance certificates for attending the year-long program.   As always, the ceremony was kicked off with a Koran reading by a student chosen by Student Association (student government), and included a speech by the Student Association President.  UPP continued its tradition, for the 3rd year in a row, of including a faculty speech.  The faculty member was chosen by students through a voting process.  This year’s speaker was Mr. Christopher Dundy, English teacher. 

UPP Summer Courses

Summer classes at the UPP are running from June 18 to July 26.  Advanced English, Academic English/TOEFL Prep, and Advanced Biology are offered.  All courses meet 3 hours a day, 4 days a week, Saturday-Tuesday.  This year’s summer offerings are designed to help students finish off their prep-year requirements for Alfaisal University, so they will meet all Alfaisal entry requirements for the coming school year.  46 students are enrolled in summer courses.

UPP Honor Roll During the 2010-11 academic year, 45 students made the Honor Roll.  The Honor Roll consists of students who obtained a minimum 3.5 GPA.  The UPP is the most rigorous prep program in Saudi Arabia, so making the Honor Roll is not easy.  In addition to making the Honor Roll, 8 students obtained a GPA of 4.0.

UPP Institutional TOEFL

UPP offers the institutional TOEFL to any student who has applied for admission to Alfaisal University.  The cost is only 400 riyals.  Those who want to sign up for the test should visit the UPP Admissions Office to register and pay the test fee.  It is advised to call in advance to make sure there are seats still available for the test:  920000510.  The Admissions Office is located in the Admissions Suite on Alfaisal University campus.
